First Church FAQs

You can visit as many times as you want without any obligations or pressure. And who knows—you just might decide to make First Church your new church home!

As you plan your visit, here are some things to know:

  • What is your worship like?

We have 30-35 minutes worth of musical worship. During this time, we sing contemporary worship songs (Elevation Worship, Bethel, Red Rocks Worship, etc.) as well as spending time in prophetic, free-flowing worship.

  • What do you have for my kids?

We offer children’s ministries for kids ages 0-12. First Steps (0-2) and preschool (3-4) are available during the entire service. First Church Kids (ages 5-12) are dismissed to their class after worship in the sanctuary.

  • How long are your services?

Our Sunday morning gatherings are usually an hour and 30 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes. We always strive to make our services worth your time, and as part of that, we are committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to move within our services. For this reason, our service lengths fluctuate slightly.

  • What should I wear?

At First Church, you’ll see everything from suits to t-shirts and shorts. Wear what makes you feel comfortable—you’re among family here and we want you to feel at home!

  • What can I expect within my first five minutes after I arrive?

You can expect to be greeted at the door by our Welcome Posse. From there, we’ll have team members available to answer any questions you have, assist you in finding a seat, and help you get your children checked in for our children’s ministries.

  • Where can I learn more?

If you’d like to learn more about First Church, stop by our Welcome Center in the lobby before or after service to speak with one of our team members. We’d love to share more about our heart and ministry as well as learn more about you!

  • Do you have a kids' check-in process?

Yes! We ask parents/guardians to check their children in at our Kids Check-in on the main level. During this check-in process, you’ll receive a nametag sticker for your child, as well as a second one for you. This second tag will be used when you pick up your child after service to ensure children are released to the proper adults.

  • What does it mean to seek the presence of God?

We believe God desires to spend time with us - and this includes making His presence known during our worship services together. Sometimes He makes Himself known through a prophetic word (think of a prophecy as God expressing His heart for a person or situation through someone). He may also show His presence by bringing an overwhelming feeling of peace that fills the sanctuary or He may reveal His power by healing someone of a physical ailment or setting someone free from addiction. Ultimately, we believe we are transformed by encountering His presence, so it is the most important focus of our gatherings.

  • Do you have prayer available during your service?

Prayer is a huge priority around here, so we provide multiple opportunities for prayer on Sunday mornings. We have a prayer center in the back of the sanctuary, where prayer ministry team members are available before and after service. We also offer prayer at the conclusion of each service, and often incorporate prayer times into our services. In addition, we have a prayer request box in our prayer center. Each prayer request is prayed over by our prayer team.
